Spring Fling raises over £8k for new breast cancer care unit in Kings Lynn
We are extremely pleased to reveal that this year’s Spring Fling ball in May raised over £8,000 for the new breast cancer care unit at Kings Lynn’s QEH Hospital. It was the third charity ball run by the Godwick Charity Events team in three years and brings our combined fundraising total to £28,000.
Godwick Charity Events fundraising committee, which consists of Dr Steve Grove, Sue Ball, ops director at Godwick Great Barn, and myself are extremely pleased to have done so well this year and very proud of everyone’s effort and support in helping us raise nearly £30,000 over the last three years.
This year’s ball was in honour of both my mum Sara Garner, and my sister, Sally Grove (Steve’s wife), who both lost their fight against breast cancer within months of one another in 2013.
As usual we were well supported by a whole host of wonderful suppliers, notably Julie Abbs Catering, who supplied us with a fabulous three course meal, London magician Lee Hathaway, and some great music from local girl The Sally Taylor Band. There was also a charity auction and we would like to thank all who donated and those who gave generously on the night.
Godwick Charity Events will host another fundraising event next spring on 7 May 2016. This event will be a different format – a Comedy Gala Night. A couple of fabulous and well known UK comedians have already confirmed, so put the date in the diary and sign up to our newsletter to find out the latest information about tickets and the acts appearing.
