Godwick Glitter Ball raises over £14,000 for breast cancer care unit
We are so pleased that Godwick Charity Events’ annual fundraising ball exceed all expectations by raising more than £14,000 for the QEH in Kings Lynn’s breast cancer care unit.
These are my thoughts: “Steve, Ellen and I wanted to do something at Godwick where Sally grew up and on a scale that would befit our memories of her. So we planned a fundraising ball at Godwick Great Barn to celebrate Sal’s life – hence the Glitter Ball.
“We packed out the barn and a giant tipi with 220 people and were generously supported by ball goers and from north Norfolk business owners and friends, who donated such amazing charity auction and raffle prizes.
“We had set our sights on raising more than the £6,000 we raised at last year’s charity ball at Godwick Great Barn, and we smashed it raising more than £14,000 and there’s still the possibility of more to come.”
Here’s some of Steve’s thoughts : “Sally received fabulous support and care at the QEH and we wanted to recognise the staffs’ efforts by raising money for the Breast Cancer Care Unit development fund to help them give the best support and care to others in the future.”
What we have donated is a drop in the ocean for what the QEH need to raise to develop their new breast cancer care unit, but we are
We’d love to thank you all personally for coming and helping us raise so much money and a special thank you to all those who donated, or gave us incredible auction and raffle prizes and for those who gave so generously on the night. We really were spoilt by you all and feel we have achieved something really significant in Sal’s memory.
